I would like to know where people in my situation store their bikes for the winter ? do they pay for storage ? or try to find a buddy that has a garage ? if they pay, where and how much $
Answer:
-Boyd's Moving and Storage.They store motorcycles. A lot of people in your
situation use them.
-Unless you have a generous friend, the storage companies charge for their
service. Not all that much though.
Try to stay away from the motorcycle dealers for storage. I have seen how
the bikes are "packed" amongst each other. That is fine if you own a beater,
in which case, you would probably store it outdoors.
-For the past 2 years I have been storing mine at the Ottawa Goodtime Centre.
They have a package deal that if you pay up front, it's $35./month which
includes prepping it for storage, cleaning, etc. You only need to book your
spot, then bring it in when you're ready. In the spring, if you give them 3
days notice, they'll prep it for you again so that you only need to drive it
away.
The bike has never ridden better since I've been doing that. Also, during the
winter months they bring the bike back to the shop from storage to do any
other extra work that you want done.
