Question:

Any comment with this problem?

Answer:

Maybe there's a way to ship by, well, ship... It may take longer, but could be safer, I don't know... I had problems enough with my two suitcases when I moved here...Sure wish I could have my antique furniture and even the house I used to live there, which was my grandma's... Fortunately, I have the uncanny ability of keeping my parents terrorized so that they won't destroy anything that I could save from the rest of the family. Good for the bunnies I don't need to terrorize them out of the few pieces of furniture I have here. This is how its being done, by ship (It will take 6-8 weeks!) So I'm making an inventory of bits we will need in that time that can come with us! (eg a saucepan, two plates etc) Ed spoke to someone today who moved before us (his visa came through quicker) and has Finally got his stuff. He didn't have so many breakables, but it got there in one piece - Phew!! I'm going to wrap our crystal stuff myself, Heather gave me a great web site with tips, thanks! and Thankyou all! Martha, my mum already has a room full of my stuff that didn't get moved up here when we married, she keeps badgering me to sort it, but I'm a hoarder
(like her) so I doubt it will decrease any! In fact it will increase as I beg her to store bits from here no doubt! I wish I could have it all here, and the Rabbit ornament collection (thirty pieces collected since I was 5) will finally sneak its way up! (Ed doesn't like lots of clutter! Sigh, clutter - rabbit ornaments?!Never!) Fortunately mum is willing to store and keep storing! (eg I have all my fave childhood books and toys there, letters etc!) My dad is terrorized against getting rid of any childhood books at his (eg the complete Famous Five collection, Anne of Green Gables complete set etc!) I've promised him his grandchildren will thank him one day!!! Thankyou all again! Btw, Ed is off to the Usa for business reasons on Sunday, back on Thurs, we will most probably be moving earlier now! Ulp! Probably June! Will let you know! Celia and Bunnie. (She's only in a mild panic about it being brought forward, she'll love organising it once she gets going! Not so sure I like the thought though! All that furniture moving, I Might just Thump a bit!) Same here! I spent the first six months convinced that I was the only one, that I must be loopy or something and that I was doing something weird, However I was convinced that it was best for me and Bunnie, Ed was convinced too, we stuck to our feelings, tried to ignore others (Inc my mum, his parents etc) When Ed found the HRS on the web I whooped with delight!!!!!!!!! Mum has since changed her mind totally! Dad remains mildly amused, but both my parents know how much I adore buns, so they're kinda not surprised that I wouldn't have an outdoor bun, Ed's mum tolerates it for my sake.......(She is one of these people who has a "Show-home" it's so spotless, and doesn't like small animals in general) My step-mums sister
(Who has lived in the Usa for years - her hubby is american) when she first met Bunnie and found out how he was a house bun couldn't ask enough questions and was fascinated, she was completely in favour of housebuns. But then she is into animal rights too. It was sooo refreshing to get completely the opposite attitude, the only time that that has happened! That sounds like my house. Roy's boss and one of his friends who he works with were over one night. When someone first comes over the buns all hide because of the dogs barking but once the dogs settle down they all start making their appearances again. Their jaws dropped when they started noticing 3 bunnies hopping around the living room and sticking their noses in their tea!: I have to say I have encountered the same attitudes. I thought it was just me at first. People telling me that rabbits should live in the garden or garage and how can you keep it in the house they make a mess. (some of them being my inlaws, had to bite my tounge there!) I often remark that if I wanted a bunny as a garden ornament I would go to the garden centre and get a ceramic one. I don't want to be rude but being american I have noticed this attitude in general here (here being england)about most animals. One sunny afternoon I was sitting in the front garden letting the buns have a hop around. Our front garden is completely enclosed by a 4 foot high brick fence thing. So to everyone else I looked like a loon sitting outside laughing to herself!:) (we dont let them out back because thats where the dogs relieve themselves and don't want them eating that grass) anyway I was out front and the neighbor asked what I was doing. I told her I was wathcing my bunnies. She of course ran over quite interested and pointed out how adorable they were. Then she asked where they lived and I said they are all in the house and litter trained and gave her the usual good bunny speech;) She seemed amazed. She said that she keeps cats because they can live outside and you don't get attached to them and don't love them as much. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She also said she had never heard of anyone letting rabbits live indoors like that. I kind of remarked that you learn something new everyday. She went back to her house and I was just amazed at her attitude about it all and not loving or being attached, and to be honest that seems to be the general sentiment of most people I have come across. Well I guess the point of this story was that I understand your frustration celia!! People get almost indignant with what they don't understand or agree with and most of them almost try to force their point of view on you. But I have to say that my buns are cleaner and nicer then half the people I know and would rather have a houseful of buns then them!:) Stick to your guns!:) This isn't an anti british post so please don't take it this way, this is just my opinion of the attitude of most of the people I have encountered.
