Need Full Service Moving advise

Question:

-I would like to keep the cost of moving as low as possible, but I realize there must be an industry standard (weight/mileage), so, if anyone has any advice to offer up? I would appreciate it.
-I will be moving from California to Toronto soon, could anyone recommend any good mover?

Answer:

When I moved from San Diego to Redlands, California, then from Redlands to Yosemite, California. I used a mover based out of Santa Ana, CA. They were fantastic on both moves. 21st Century Moving & Storage. Their number is 714-633-4848. We too are moving fm CA to Toronto next month. The movers we are using are Classic International - they are a full service moving company based in NY & they have a good sales service till now. Their quote was also competitive. Will let you know how the move went once they take our stuff next week. Last July we moved our three-bedroom apartment from the USA (Chicago Area) to Canada (GTA) for a charge of 850 USD. We used the ABF Freight System. You may get a rate quote from their web site at http://www.abfs.com/default.asp?bhcp=1 They don't pack your stuff. They don't load or unload the trailer. They just bring a trailer and leave it for couple of days in front of your home. They come pick it up after you load it. They drive to their storage area near your new home in Canada. In our case, it took them 5 days to deliver the truck from Chicago to Brampton. Then, they will give you some forms to go yourself and get a custom clearance certificate. You return the certificate to them. They will deliver the truck to your new home, where you have to unload it yourself. Good luck in your move!
