Movers - Interstate - Small Moves - Recommendations?
Question:
I'm looking for a reputable interstate mover who specializes in small moves (ie: 1-Bedroom/1-Bath). I'm located in Atlanta, and am moving to Miami, and don't want to get stuck with a bunch of crooks! And if anyone knows of a web site that rates interstate movers, please pass along the info. Also, if you've had any experience with Nationwide or Mini-moves, please let me know if you had problems or praises.
Answer:
_Use BBB on-line to find local movers that have been in business for at
least 10 years AND who are members of BBB with a good track record.
NEVER move with a company that is not a BBB member.
_BBBs are the most USELESS organizations around. They have NO
actual ability or authority to protect consumers.
My advice is to use the personal recommendations of trusted
friends or relatives who have had actual experience with a mover,
or for a small move such as yours, use a rental truck.
After you get some recommendations, check with your state
Attorney General's office or consumer protection office to see if
any of the recommended movers have had complaints filed against
them, and how the complaints were resolved.
