Any movers who supply real cargo containers?
Question:
My reason for this is that EVERYONE I know who have hired movers that pack for them, end up with furniture and belongings that are suitable for firewood after the move. If I pack and lock the cargo containers then the liability of the mover is only for safe moving and storage of the sealed containers. Are there any firms in the Denver area who handle this type of requirement?
Answer:
Original thought, you might see if Mobile Mini Storage will rent one
of their storage cubes as it fits the bill perfectly. There are
several sizes, all easily trucked.
You might also check with a local moving and storage company. They stock boxes
of various sizes that can be used for headstones, coffins, and such. Plus, art
supply stores sell black paper by the mile, very cheaply, and newsprint for paper
mache. If you have a 'Party America' franchise, they also sell delightful
holiday stuff.
I will be done transferring my license to NC in 2
weeks. I have been talking to a number of salon
owners, all in different types of salons. The 2 that
are most interested in me, and I in them, are complete
opposites! One is well established for more than 10
years, with a private nail room and clients waiting
for them to get someone. She has a great setup, will
supply all my product of my choosing, and will pay
commission - taxes, so I will not have to deal with
paperwork. She does not have a great location,
though...1/2 mile or so from downtown walking area, so
no real walk in business. The other salon has the
space of a lifetime, however. Her location is right
in the middle of downtown, which is totally catered to
women...coffee shop, cheesecake shop, florist, kids
boutique, consignment stores, etc. She has not had
the location even a year, though, and seems to be
struggling to jumpstart her business. The place still
needs some renovation work, and I would have to buy
things to set myself up...nail table, retail,
supplies, etc. She is offering rent for $75 week
until Jan. 1, then $100 week. She does skin and has
no one else in the place with her. I have a lot to
offer her, especially with my networking experience,
and a lot of the construction going on just outside of
downtown is catering to subdivisions starting at
$250,000 per home. In the long run, I could have a
great clientele 6 months to a year.
I see the tremendous potential of both places, and I
am extremely torn. I don't know anyone here in NC,
and I need to make an income asap. AUGH!!!!!!!!
Simmy, Pati...any moving advice? What would you do?
