I'd appreciate any pointers to a web site or two with instructions on making a simple, good-looking gambeson (preferably not of the moving blanket variety)

there is a very simple essay on making a gambeson.
_Just a note on Moving Blankets... be carefull... Some of the moving blankets are
now stuffed with shredded paper (newspaper, etc) and will turn to goop if you wash
them. If possible, check by ripping a small section..
