moving to USA-is Houston a best choice
Question:
Say me and my girlfriend would choose USA as our new country, where would/should I live? Important factors: "Easy" (in a more normal position in the economic cycle) to find empoyment for me and she, we both are MSc EE, interests are Control/Vehicular Systems. Several companies should be present so changing job will not mean moving out of town.
Answer:
_You and your girl would both get very good jobs in a short time in
Houston.
Someone mentioned air conditioned golf carts needed. Well, hardly
anybody walks for sure. I drive a souped up golf cart so as to get a
breeze, np. You can't beat the winters either. You might want to look
up the Houston Post on the internet to get an idea about housing
costs, employment, whatever
_As a followup, along with Houston you might consider Fort Worth.
Lockheed is presently ramping up and needing lots of engineers. You
can check www.dice.com for information. And, here's an option. My
house is just 43 miles from Lockheed and I would like to sell it. It's
on the fifth tee box of an outstanding country club. We also have
another 18 hole course you can play on. We get to own our own carts
for a very nominal fee. I just drive out of my garage and tee it up
when I get home because the course is not that busy. $125k includes
house, cart and country club membership. We live in a gated community,
two entrances with guards on each entrance all the time. No crime out
here, plus peace and quiet. Deer, turkey, quail are all over the
place. There is also a concrete air strip, many of those people along
the strip own their own planes. Also, skeet range, deep water marina,
riding stable, two driving ranges, campgrounds, recreational parks
along the river...
