USCF Moving to Florida
Question:
I don't know where USCF will wind up, if they are moving, Rusty. The Board wants W. Palm Beach by a vote of 4-3. (Two of the current members live very close to that location.) But the ED must agree, according to the Delegates motion, and he recommended Miami. So it's a standoff at this point.
Answer:
"I think it's important for USCF to move, because that's what Frank Niro wants for a fresh start for the org I would like to nominate Bob Smith as the single greatest USCF Secretary in USCF history. He is truly wonderful and we should be proud as hell that he did so much hard work as USCF Secretary. Those many long years of stonewalling and refusing to promptly release information were at least as hard on Bob as they were on everyone else who never saw or heard any information. Were it not for Bob Smith, who knows where the USCF would now be? Who is Bob Smith? Is he Bobchess? I'm not sure if it even matters. I mean who else but Bob would accuse Tim Redman of being the Masked Bishop? Bob, we love you man. If you save at least $8.00 on airfare, I'd like to ask that you send me, Bruce Draney at least $4.00 and that you send the other $4.00 to New Windsor so that USCF can be healthy again. Both USCF and myself (Bruce Draney) are only $4.00 away, so think of us when you save some money on Southwest the next time. Moving the USCF to a particular spot because there's where two board members are seems like a horrible idea. Board members come and go, but the USCF can't move very often. A big decision like the new location really should be voted on by the Delegates, not the EB. That gets better geographic representation into the picture. My only concern is that we'll see the USCF is another suburban neighborhood, yet not see a whole lot of benefit in the terms of costs. Don't get me wrong- I've been screaming about moving out of New Windsor for years- I just wanted to see it in some semblance of a city, not a bunch of houses and all of a sudden a USCF.
