Supporting a non-moving unit.
Question:
Hello everyone, I have a question about supporting units that do not move. I'm aware that you can support a non-moving unit simply by issuing support to the territory name. What happens the "non-moving" unit being supported decides to move? Obviously, if the attack is successful, the support order is void. What if it isn't though? Is the support order valid in the case of a bounce?
Answer:
No. Support is only valid when the supported unit is attempting to end
his movement in the province to which support is offered.
England: nth s hol (void), bel s ska-hol, ska-hol
Germany: hol-bel (bounce, dislodged)
If Germany had ordered hol to do anything other than move, nth support
would have been valid and the attack from ska would bounce.
-Nope. The attempt to move voids the support order totally. This is
true even if the move order is impossible (A Par-Mos).
However, a unit which is ordered to support or convoy CAN be supported
in place.
