Sent a North American moving van to pick it up.
Question:
Anyone have any recent experiences using Eric's Shipping Service? I placed an order for a machine to be picked up and delivered to me 5 months ago, It still has not arrived, although it was picked up 2 months ago, spoke with several people on Eric's staff before speaking with Eric. Eric gave me the number of the moving company he uses saying he had problems with them before. Got in touch with the moving company, they stated that there were difficulties with invoices, the problem was on Eric's end, and that they had the machine in storage, along with others, waiting for the difficulties to be cleared up, but would ship the machine to me by Friday if I paid in cash.
Answer:
Ask the guy that I shipped my websiteG to. It was in out of the box new condition
and he sent a North American moving van to pick it up. The guy that bought it
asked Eric if he would pack it and was told we will take care of everything!
Guys with this giant moving van pull up and it says on the invoice " wrap in 3
moving pads ". Guess he took care of it. Now when it arrives its scratched to
hell and the body armor is crushed. Eric tells the guy that he doesn't think
there was any insurance on it and to check with me to make sure it wasn't like
that when it left. Thank God the guy believes me and a friend of his saw the
pin a few months back. Like I said before it's a nice middle man take the money
and run game he has going there. Call up a moving company and make a fast
$100.00!
I wouldn't hold my breath! Still havn't heard back from Eric yet about the websiteG
and the damage. Here is the e mail I sent him.
"I received an e mail today from Al saying that the pin you picked up at my
address Jan Svach 217 Montana Ave. Lower Burrell Pa. 15068 needs damage
verification. That websiteG was in out of the box NEW condition when it left here.
When Al contacted your people about packaging he was told that YOU would take
care of it. What showed up at my house was a Northwest moving van!!! On the
invoice it said to wrap the pin in 3 moving pads!!! How can someone advertise a
moving service when someone else does the moving? I even had to tell the
moving guys not to slide the pin on its end and not to strap it to the side of
the van by its head which I'm sure is why the rails are crushed. You should be
thankful that Al is only interested in replacing the damaged side rails. I'd be
screaming about the scratches all over the cabinet too if it were me. Make this
good and remember this when you schedule another delivery by a 3rd. party
service."
Spoke with Eric again today, it appears that my pin was also contracted out
to Allied Movers, it took them 3 months to pick up the game, sat in storage
for 2 months due to some problem between them.
Now it should be here tomorrow as Allied had to transfer the pin to another
driver who is bringing it the rest of the way in a 15 foot truck. Meanwhile
as I am giving the guy directions, he tells me that he is transferring my
pin after he get the directions and that it is raining there!!!
Eric was apologetic for over 20 minutes on the phone, but never once offered
to lower the price to make up for the inconvenience.
He also mentioned he stopped using them and has a contract with North
American but after reading your post maybe the 5 month delay was worthwhile
if the pin is in good shape.
Who knows at this point I have a very bad taste over the whole shipping deal
maybe the pin will make up for it.
